Biography
Born James Howlett in the late 1800s in Alberta, Canada, the mutant who would become Wolverine lived a life defined by violence, loss, and resilience. His mutant healing factor manifested in childhood alongside bone claws that emerged from his knuckles. After decades of wandering — through wars, black ops missions, and tragedy — he was abducted by the Weapon X program, which bonded the indestructible metal adamantium to his entire skeleton.
Escaping Weapon X as a feral berserker, Logan was eventually found and recruited by Professor Charles Xavier to join the X-Men. Despite his savage nature, Wolverine became one of the team's most loyal and iconic members, serving as both a mentor and a warrior. His rivalry with Sabretooth, his complicated history with Jean Grey, and his endless struggle between man and animal define one of the most complex characters in comics.
Wolverine has been a member of nearly every major Marvel team including the Avengers, X-Force, and Alpha Flight. His solo adventures have taken him from the back alleys of Madripoor to feudal Japan. He is widely considered one of the most popular comic book characters ever created.
